RV Bathroom Storage In The Shower

1 – Get over the shower caddy for no-drill option.

2 – Put your toiletries in a dispenser. This doesn’t only look nice, neat and less cluttered, but it also saves you (a lot of) water – you don’t have to be reaching, opening and closing your bottles in the shower. Find this in shower dispenser on Amazon.

Top tip: Your shower lotions don’t have to be exactly in a dispenser like this, even a few soap pumps, like hand soap bottles from a grocery store, will work just as well, just have them close-by on a shower caddy.

3 – Install two shower rods. You can hang so much stuff from the extra rod – an extra shower caddy, shampoo bottles from curtain rings (shown below) or use s-hooks to hang sponges etc. Hang two ordinary shower rods or get a Double Shower Rod.

4- Suction Hooks are a super easy way to hang things in RV bathroom.

5 – Install double hooks if you want to layer two shower curtains together.

6 – You can find a beautiful variety of bathroom accessories with suction cups for hassle-free installation. Find these Suction Cup Holders here.

More Handy Storage

1 – Baskets with over the door hooks are extremely handy anywhere in the bathroom. Hang over another curtain rod in a shower, on the actual bathroom door or inside the vanity cabinet.

2 – If you don’t want your towels to start to smell funky, you’ll have to let them dry properly. I know that hooks are a tempting option in a small space, but your towels won’t have the chance to dry properly and may get moldy. A perfect way to prevent this is a towel bar and in a small RV bathroom, one of the easiest ways to hang it, is behind the door.

3 – This is a super slim kitchen trolley which could work really well in a small space.

4 – My favorite, a small over the door towel bar that holds your hand towel perfectly, especially if the wall space is limited.

5 – I find the toilet roll storage is one of the most difficult ones in a small toilet. These handy toilet roll holders prevent them getting damp.

6 – Use spice racks as shelves. Spice racks are perfect storage in an RV, as they are usually light and slim.

Top tip: The wall space behind the toilet seat is often wasted. A slim spice rack works well there without compromising comfort of space.

Handy Tips

1 – Use curtain rings to hang toiletries. This works really well with the double shower rod tip.

2 – Utilize the space under your sink with some extra shelving.

Top tip: Install a tension rod there too, to hang your cleaning bottles from it.

3 – Roll your towels to save space. Like when you pack your clothes in a suitcase, rolling your towels will save a lot of space. If you like these plastic baskets, you’ll find them here.

4 – Store your toiletries in a basket with a handle. This way, if you like using campground showers too, you can just easily grab your basket and go. This particular basket can be found here.

Organization By The Vanity

Even a small vanity will store loads if you get creative.

1 – Get some hooks to hold your toothbrushes and razors. These would be very handy behind your vanity mirror door!

Top tip: Some people have used normal cup hooks, but installed them sideways.

2 – Get a little vanity caddy. It is easier to secure to the vanity than single products, so you don’t always have to worry storing everything away before moving.

3 – Get drawer organizers. Not only will they make the general organization easier, a drawer organizer also stops your stuff sliding inside the drawer when driving.

Top tip: Just use a kitchen utensils drawer organizer, if you want a budget option. A flea market close to us sells them for less than a dollar, but picking one up from a dollar store doesn’t cost much either.

4 – Use magnetic strips to store all small metal items like hairpins, nail clippers and small scissors. This wood looking one can be found here.

5 – Label everything. Trust me, it makes the life whole lotta easier. These cute labels can be found here.

6 – Look out for a Lazy Susan. Especially handy if your vanity is pretty deep.

How to Secure Your Items to Prevent Them Sliding

1 – Use a towel bar to hold your shampoo bottles in place.

2 – Use suction cups. Easy way to attach the vanity caddy, for example. These ones are actually meant for aquarium use, but they still work well in an RV.

3 – Store everything in baskets. To stop the baskets sliding so much, you could put some silicone on the bottom rim. These exact baskets can be found here.

4 – Use magnets. For example, this magnetic board would look really nice with makeup on it, just glue some magnets at the back of the makeup and voila, your magnetic makeup holder is ready.

5 – Command strips. A classic in RVs.

A word of caution

There are two items that are often recommended to RVers to use in their RV bathrooms as a storage, but I disagree with these two, or at least, here me out on this –

1. Shoe organizer for storing shampoo etc. bottles. I know it is a very handy storage, but you have to be careful with the material, or to be prepared to buy a new one every now and then. Your bathroom is most likely quite small and if you don’t let it dry properly after every time it has become wet, you’ll see mold and mildew to form pretty quickly. Not nice. I’d recommend a good quality shower caddy instead.

2. Wine rack as a towel storage. Looks pretty cool, especially if you have beautifully selected towel colors, but really, who has this much space in their RV bathroom?! So, if you have the space, go for it, but for the rest I’d recommend rolling the towels inside some baskets.

Always, if you want to utilize your space as efficiently as possible, you’ll need a plan. Empty everything out, see what you have, get rid of clutter and everything you haven’t used for a while and then make a plan on where and what you need to store.
